GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF BUSINESS – SORIŠKA PLANINA

WE RECOMMEND THAT VISITORS:

  • Check the weather and operating conditions at the ski resort before purchasing ski passes.
  • Check the latest daily information about conditions at the ski resort on www.soriska-planina.si, where information is available on current weather conditions, snow conditions, lift operations and additional services.
  • Familiarise themselves with the procedures for confiscating ski passes in cases of misuse before purchasing a ski pass.
  • Check the information board before heading out onto the slopes and choose slopes that are appropriate for their skiing ability and skills.
  • Ensure they are properly equipped before going skiing.

1. PURCHASE AND VALIDITY OF SKI PASSES

Ski passes may be purchased at the prices listed in the current price list, using cash, debit cards (BA and Maestro) or credit cards (Visa and Mastercard) at the ticket offices at the bottom station of the Slatnik ski lift.

Ticket sales and inspection are carried out using computerised ticket offices and magnetic readers. Visitors must present their ski passes whenever requested to do so by an authorised person anywhere in the ski resort. Visitors must register their ski passes using the electronic control devices when boarding a lift.

Ski passes are issued on KeyCard cards. A KeyCard is a magnetic chip card onto which ski passes can be electronically loaded. A deposit is required for the magnetic chip card and will be refunded when the undamaged card is returned. Customers may also keep the magnetic card for their next visit.

Only a damaged ski pass whose validity or usage can be verified using an electronic reader may be replaced. An additional payment is required for a new magnetic chip card.

The validity period is stated on every ski pass sold.

Seasonal deposit ski passes may be used on any day during the current ski season.

Ski passes are non-transferable, except for 5-days-per-season passes and parents' daily and four-hour passes, which are transferable. The 5-days-per-season passes may be used on consecutive or non-consecutive days during the current ski season.

Complaints concerning ski passes are handled by the information office at the ticket offices next to the Slatnik ski lift.

Worsening weather, fog, wind, slope closures, interruptions or stoppages of individual lifts do not constitute grounds for a refund or an extension of the ski pass validity if the interruptions are short-term and caused by force majeure.

In the event of prolonged closures or stoppages, the customer is entitled to a proportional refund in the form of a credit note.

All discounted ski passes (for children, young people, seniors and parents) may only be purchased upon presentation of appropriate proof of age and status. Family discounts may only be claimed upon presentation of proof of a shared household and family relationship (identity document, proof of residence, etc.). Group discounts require proof of the number of people. Other discounts, including discounts offered by the operator's partners, may only be claimed upon presentation of vouchers, membership cards for the relevant organisation or other proof of eligibility issued by the operator.

Only public educational institutions are entitled to purchase or use ski passes at school-group prices.

Vouchers or coupons for ski passes received through prize competitions or donations are valid only during the current season.

Season passes are valid for the 2023/2024 season. They are carried over to the following season if the ski resort operates for fewer than 75 days. If the resort operates for fewer than 75 days, the customer receives a credit note for the following season calculated proportionally as follows: (ski pass price / 75) × number of unused days.

The Monday–Friday season pass is valid from Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays and school holidays.

Deposit ski passes or coupons purchased in advance, either during presale or regular advance sales, have their validity period stated at the bottom of the pass. This is valid until the end of the ski season, with the possibility of extending validity by two years upon payment of an additional fee.

1.1. VALIDITY OF DISCOUNTED SKI PASSES AND DISCOUNTS

Children are persons aged from 6 up to and including 14.99 years. Children up to 5.99 years of age pay a €2 usage fee for a CICIBAN pass, which provides access to the entire ski resort, including the Lucija children's ski lift. Proof of age must be presented to obtain the pass, and a deposit must be paid for the magnetic card.

Children up to 14.99 years of age are entitled to purchase a children's ski pass upon presentation of proof of age.

Young people aged 15 to 23.99 are entitled to purchase a youth ski pass upon presentation of proof of age.

Adults over 60 are entitled to purchase a senior ski pass upon presentation of proof of age. Persons under 60 who are covered by the pension and disability insurance system are also entitled to purchase a senior ski pass, provided they present their ZPIZ card.

Adults over 70 are entitled to purchase a Senior Plus ski pass upon presentation of proof of age.

Persons with disabilities and their companions are entitled to purchase ski passes at a 50% discount upon presentation of appropriate proof.

Blind and visually impaired persons and their companions are entitled to ski passes at a 100% discount upon presentation of appropriate proof.

Discounts cannot be combined.

1.2. CLAIMING FAMILY BENEFITS

The parents' daily and four-hour ski passes are intended for parents who take turns skiing while one of them looks after a younger child. To purchase these passes, customers must provide proof of a shared household and purchase at least one children's ski pass, or present proof that the child is under six years of age. The family discount cannot be applied when purchasing parents' ski passes.

A 10% family discount is available on four-hour, five-hour, daily, multi-day and season passes. It is applied when at least one adult pass and one children's pass are purchased, upon presentation of proof of a shared household and proof of age. The family discount does not apply to youth or senior passes.

1.3. VALIDITY OF SPECIAL SKI PASSES

The ski touring pass is intended for ski tourers who use the edges of ski slopes or areas bordering the slopes to ascend nearby peaks. The price includes parking and one ride on any of the resort's cableway or lift facilities.

The local residents' four-hour and daily passes are intended for residents of villages within the Sorica Local Community. Proof of permanent residence must be presented when purchasing the pass.

The Lucija ski lift pass is a single pass valid on the day of purchase for the entire operating period of the ski resort. All users of the Lucija ski lift must purchase a pass, regardless of age. Accompanying persons do not need a pass. If the same user purchases another ski pass for the Soriška planina ski resort on the same day, the price of the Lucija pass is deducted from the price of the other pass.

2. REFUNDS

If a skier is injured or becomes ill and the ski resort's rescue service intervenes, the operator will refund the purchase price based on the accident report and the ski pass receipt. The refund is calculated proportionally according to the extent to which the pass has been used: (ski pass price / number of days or hours) × number of unused days or hours. In the event of illness, a refund is granted only upon presentation of a medical certificate. No refund will be issued if the accident occurred because the skier failed to comply with the rules for safe skiing (ZVSmuč-1) or was skiing outside designated and maintained ski areas.

If the lifts remain out of operation for an extended period due to bad weather, a lack of snow or a lift breakdown, the company will issue a proportional refund in the form of a credit note, calculated as follows: (ski pass price / number of days or hours) × number of unused days or hours.

Purchased daily, multi-day and hourly ski passes may be returned only if they have not been activated. The company does not provide compensation for lost ski passes.

3. MISUSE OF SKI PASSES

Attempted or actual misuse of a ski pass, as well as violations of the rules for safe skiing, constitute grounds for immediate confiscation of the pass. An authorised company representative may confiscate the pass. Confiscation is documented by a certificate confirming that the pass has been confiscated.

In cases of misuse of a ski pass, all employees of TC Soriška planina d.o.o. are authorised to confiscate it. In such cases, no certificate is issued.

Users of ski passes with age-related or other discounts must present proof of their eligibility when asked to identify themselves. Such proof may include a secondary-school student card, student ID card, identity card or other appropriate documentation.

Ski passes are non-transferable. Reselling ski passes during the operating day is prohibited.

In cases of pass misuse, breaches of the rules or violations of safe skiing regulations, the company may file a request for criminal prosecution. If a person involved in an accident has misused a ski pass, that person is responsible for paying the rescue costs.

4. GENERAL PROVISIONS GOVERNING LIFT OPERATIONS

All lifts operate on a self-service basis. Users of any lift must know how to board and disembark safely. Visitors who need assistance boarding a lift should request help from the lift attendant in good time.

Lift operating hours are adjusted according to the daily snow and weather conditions.

During the ski season, the company may suspend the operation of individual lifts and close ski slopes for technical, organisational, economic or natural reasons. Short-term interruptions and a reduced range of services do not constitute grounds for a refund. In the event of prolonged breakdowns or extended closures of ski slopes or lifts, the purchase price will be reduced accordingly.

4.1. OPERATIONAL SAFETY AND DAMAGE TO FACILITIES AT THE SKI RESORT AND ON THE LIFTS

Children under 14 years of age must wear a protective ski helmet while at the ski resort. Group leaders and coaches are responsible for the safety of the skiers in their groups.

If the company determines that a visitor has damaged a lift or any other facility at the ski resort, the person responsible for the damage, or their guardian, must compensate the company for the loss. The company reserves the right to claim compensation from the person responsible and recover the costs of the damage. In cases involving violations of safe skiing rules or ZVSmuč-1, the company may file a request for criminal prosecution.

The company reserves the right to deny individuals or groups access to the ski resort because of previous violations of the rules of conduct or safe skiing. Access to the lifts and ski resort will be denied to persons who are intoxicated, under the influence of drugs or behaving inappropriately. The company accepts no responsibility for such persons or their conduct.

Smoking, the use of open flames, and the disposal of cigarette butts and litter are prohibited on all lift facilities due to the risk of fire along the lift routes.

Unauthorised advertising on buildings, facilities and car parks at Soriška planina is prohibited. Advertising is permitted only in designated areas and by arrangement with the operator.

4.2. TRANSPORT OF CHILDREN AND PETS

Transporting children or pets in backpacks or baby carriers on ski lifts is prohibited. On the chairlift, children up to six years of age may be carried on an adult's lap. The accompanying adult is responsible for the child's safety during transport. Children shorter than 1.25 m may use the two-seat chairlift only when accompanied by an adult.

4.3. INSURANCE AND LIABILITY

By purchasing a ski pass, the pass holder is insured during transport on all cableway facilities against bodily injury or damage to equipment or cargo, provided the injury or damage is caused by the fault or negligence of the lift operator.

The company accepts no liability for bodily injuries resulting from failure to take into account the conditions on the slopes, the number of visitors, weather, snow quality, inappropriate skiing speed or technique, failure to observe FIS rules, signs and instructions issued by the lift operator, insufficient physical fitness, inadequate sports equipment, skiing under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or similar circumstances.

Any claim for compensation against the company must be supported by a valid ski pass for the day on which the injury occurred and an accident report prepared by the rescue service.

Visitors to Soriška planina are advised to carry their health insurance card. In the event of an injury at the ski resort, transport to hospital by an ambulance, which may be provided only by an authorised healthcare institution, is free of charge only for persons with valid compulsory and supplementary health insurance.

5. PARKING AND USE OF PARKING AREAS, THE SLEDGING AREA AND THE CROSS-COUNTRY SKI TRACK

Parking and use of the facilities are free of charge for ski resort visitors who purchase a valid ski pass. Users of the sledging areas and cross-country ski track, ski tourers and other visitors to the mountain who do not purchase a ski pass must pay a nominal usage fee at the ski resort ticket office. The fee includes use of the car park, designated snow-covered areas for other activities and toilet facilities.

Parking on emergency access areas, access roads and private land is strictly prohibited. The company accepts no responsibility for parked vehicles.

6. SKI SCHOOLS, TRAINING AND COMPETITIONS

The organiser of an event, competition or training session must obtain a permit (approval) from the ski resort operator in advance to use the ski resort. Permits and other documents are issued at the information office by the ski resort ticket office.

The organiser of an event, training session or competition must, at their own expense and using their own marshals, secure the part of the ski resort used for the event, training session or competition and physically separate it from the areas used for recreational skiing. Before the event or competition begins, the organiser must provide their own rescue service, doctor and marshals.

Organisers of competitions, training sessions and other events that require any of the ski resort's facilities to operate outside regular operating hours must also provide a rescue service, doctor and marshals at their own expense, just like all other organisers.

Only organisations that have obtained prior approval from the operator may run a ski school at Soriška planina.

The operator and individual ski schools may enter into special agreements concerning the use of the ski resort and its facilities. Commercial agreements between the operator and private legal entities are confidential.

All ski resort users taking part in organised courses, ski clubs or alpine schools who use the facilities must have a valid ski pass, regardless of age.

7. SPECIAL PROVISIONS ON SAFETY AND CONDUCT AT THE SKI RESORT

Skiers must follow the instructions of ski patrols, rescue personnel and lift employees. They must also observe all information signs, directional signs and prohibition signs. Skiers must comply with the FIS rules and the provisions of the Ski Resort Safety Act (ZVSmuč-1).

Skiing on closed slopes and skiing outside designated and maintained ski areas are prohibited. Every skier must choose terrain appropriate to their skiing skills and abilities.

The rescue service operates throughout the operating hours of the lifts. The rescue station is located at the bottom station of the Slatnik ski lift. Rescue personnel supervise only maintained ski areas and open ski slopes.

The final inspection of the ski resort takes place at 16:10, or 10 minutes after the end of operations if opening hours have been shortened or extended. Rescue and first-aid services provided on closed ski slopes or outside designated and maintained ski areas are charged to the injured person.

Skiing along the routes of ski lifts is prohibited. Lift routes may be crossed only at specially marked points. Walking and sledging on ski slopes are not permitted. Dogs, whether on or off a lead, are not permitted on ski slopes. Snowmobiles may not be driven on ski slopes.

Skiers must be prepared to encounter a snow groomer or a snowmobile travelling on official duties.

Between 16:00 and 08:00 the following morning, all ski areas are closed for slope grooming and snowmaking. While the ski slopes and other areas are closed, visitors move around the ski resort at their own risk. Using the ski areas outside the ski resort's operating hours is prohibited and life-threatening.

Visitors must comply unconditionally with all instructions issued by the ski resort operator's staff, as well as with the audible and visual signals emitted by machinery. The safe skiing recommendations form an integral part of the terms and conditions of the Soriška planina Tourist Centre.

The general terms and conditions of business apply to ski pass exchanges. Postage costs are non-refundable.

The Customer has the right to notify the Seller within 14 days of receiving the ordered goods that they wish to withdraw from the contract and return the ski passes, without having to provide a reason. This right applies exclusively to natural persons purchasing products for purposes unrelated to their business or professional activity.

In this case, the Customer bears the cost of returning the ski passes. The Customer may notify the Seller of their withdrawal by emailing [email protected], as published on the Seller's website.

The Customer must return the product to the Seller no later than 14 days after notifying the Seller of the withdrawal. The return must include a copy of the order and the ski passes, which must be unused.

The only cost payable by the Customer in connection with withdrawing from the order is the direct cost of returning the ski passes. The Seller does not accept shipments sent cash on delivery.

8.1.5. SECURITY AND PRIVACY OF PERSONAL DATA

The Seller provides a secure purchasing environment. Appropriate protection against unwanted misuse is provided on the website. Online sales take place through the secure HTTPS protocol, which uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). Data is encrypted using a 128-bit key to prevent third parties from intercepting the Customer's information.

All personal data relating to the Customer is stored in the Seller's database, except for payment card details. Card details are processed on the bank's website and must be entered again for subsequent purchases. The bank is responsible for protecting and processing payment card data and enables fully secure transactions, thereby preventing misuse.

All data provided by the Customer will be the exclusive property of Turistični center Soriška planina d.o.o. It will be protected in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (ZVOP-2) and will not be disclosed to third parties unless required by law.

In accordance with Article 32(3) of the Out-of-Court Consumer Dispute Resolution Act (ZIsRPS), the Seller declares that it does not recognise any out-of-court consumer dispute resolution provider as competent to resolve consumer disputes arising from online sales under these terms and conditions.

The same online terms and conditions generally apply to the purchase of gift vouchers as to the purchase of ski passes.

Gift vouchers with a monetary value may be purchased and used for catering and accommodation services and for purchasing ski passes for services provided by Turistični center Soriška planina d.o.o.

Monetary gift vouchers must be used within one year of the purchase date.

Click on the desired voucher amount to select its value. The required information includes the user's first name, surname and email address to which the voucher or electronic gift voucher will be sent.

The provisions concerning the protection of personal data applicable to ski pass purchases also apply to gift vouchers.
